Tips on How to Become a Fitness Model

July 14th, 2009

Everyone is busy. But considering what is at stake, making time for exercise needs to be a priority right now. Thirty minutes a day is not too much when you get right down to it. Cut one prime-time show out of your evening television-viewing schedule. Get up a half-hour earlier each morning. Use half of your lunch hour for a brisk walk. You can find time if you look hard enough for it.

In fact, there are people who find time to manage and endorse the advantages of physical fitness just so they can prove to the world what a physically fit person can look like.

It is for this reason that most people contend that fitness models are one of the healthiest and most appealing people in the world. They embody the perfect concept of a physically fit person. Fitness models are, indeed, the epitome of health, life, vigor, and real beauty.

In reality, virtually everyone who has the capability to move can exercise to some degree; and everyone who is capable of projecting the benefits of exercise and physical fitness can be a fitness model.

Therefore, if you think that you have what it takes to be a fitness model, here are some tips on how to be come one.

1. Deviate from the common notion of everybody that fitness is just a matter of the body figure.

The problem with the society today is that people tend to admire and look up to females who are thin and sexy and to males have brawny, muscular biceps, triceps, and wonderful abs.

The upshot is that people tend to exert so much effort in exercise not because they want to be healthy and fit but because they want to like the fitness models that they usually see in TV, posters, and magazines.

To be a fitness model, you should start working your way to a healthier you and not just a sexier, physically attractive person that you want to be.

After all, being a fitness model does not necessarily mean you have to have a “fashion-model” body size.

2. Believe in the saying, “You are what you eat.”

If you want to be a fitness model, you have to believe on the fact that our body shows what kinds of food we eat. Your body will also depict the kind of physical activities that you have in life.

Hence, if you do not conform to this belief, chances are, you will find it hard to be a fitness model, and to inform the people what it is like to be physically fit.

3. Live a healthy lifestyle

Genes play big roles in a person’s health. But these do not certainly influence what you will eat at breakfast, lunch, or dinner, and the kind of activity that you will engage in.

Hence, if your lifestyle will not be healthy, chances are, you can never be a fitness model.

4. Have a “positive self image”

In order to be a fitness model, you have to incorporate positive body image in your life. This means that you should love your body in spite of what is happening in the environment or the occurrences in your life.

You should never wish for a body that you know it is not yours. Do not burden yourself into thinking that life could have been better if you only have thinner thighs or beautiful abs.

Through positive self-image, you are able to gain respect for yourself, which in turn generates other s to respect you and admire you.

The key point here is that, being a fitness model is not all about vanity and physical attributes alone. What matters most is the beauty of being physically fit and healthy that radiates from your body as it exudes the glow of health.

What should people think about when starting a fitness plan?

June 25th, 2009

I am trying to think of some idea’s of what you should think about when making a fitness plan for someone? (School)

Their current physical abilities and limitations. Age, sex, resources (gym, home, extremely hot & cold weather). Goals (weight loss, muscle gain, strength, endurance – and the goal measurement of each).

What Are The Benefits Of Fitness Training On Your Heart?

June 15th, 2009

When it comes to your heart and fitness training, the two are definitely linked. There are many benefits that can be had from fitness training, not the least of all to your heart. Whether or not you have heart problems, your heart and fitness training go hand in hand for a healthy lifestyle. This is because both your body and your heart will be doing a lot better if you get into regular fitness training routine.

The main thing that is affected with your heart and fitness training is the blood flow. The blood flow will be a lot better if you workout on a regular basis. This is because moving around and getting your blood moving increase circulation. Improved circulation can help with a variety of health problems. Not only that, but it can actually help avoid a lot of health problems before they even start. Besides helping with a variety of health problems, improved circulation can help raise your metabolism. Which in turn can help you lose weight even quicker.

Another benefit to your heart and fitness training is if you have problems with your cholesterol. It has been shown that a lot of people with high cholesterol are overweight. The weight is definitely a factor in the bad cholesterol. By losing just a few pounds it has been shown that you can lower your cholesterol by a few points. Even just a short walk four or five times a week can make a difference. You don’t have to workout very hard and lose a ton of weight; even a few pounds can make a difference. Lowering your cholesterol can reduce a lot of stress on your heart. This aspect of your heart and fitness training is definitely a great one to take advantage of if you fall into this category. Even if your cholesterol isn’t that bad, if it runs in your family you should take advantage of this as well. By starting now you can avoid problems in the future.

No matter what you do, make sure you get a doctor’s advice first. This is especially true if you have heart problems to start with. A doctor can give you some options for exercise that will not put too much stress on your heart. Yet a doctor can also let you know which ones will be best for your heart while still being able to lose weight.

In the end you can see that there are many benefits when it comes to your heart and fitness training. Once you get out there and take advantage of these benefits you will be glad you did. Whether you are trying to improve your heart or just avoid future heart problems, fitness training can definitely help.

What is the most effective weight loss and fitness plan?

June 14th, 2009

I would like to know the most effective weight loss and fitness plans that have worked best for people. I want to try and develop my own plan and would like outside ideas on work outs, recipes, etc.

Its an easy formula. What’s hard is sticking to it.
1. Calculate on average how many calories you eat a day (eg 1800)
2. Reduce the number by 500 (eg 1300)
3. Now that you have a limit, you decide ‘do i really want to eat this because it has x number of calories.’
4. In addition, try doing exercise without thinking of it as a chore.
5. Have something to work towards (a REALISTIC goal) such as fitting into a pair of jeans you cant atm.
6. Stick to this and the weight will drop off (eventually :) )

How Diet And Fitness Work Together

June 9th, 2009

Most of us have been at a place in our lives where we are struggling to regain our physical fitness. The accumulation of a few – or many – pounds over a few years, a sedentary lifestyle spent sitting at a desk, and a chaotic schedule that has not allowed much time for ourselves have all contributed to an unhealthy body. But for those of us looking to right the wrong and get healthy, there can be no greater connection between diet and fitness.

Overall health comes with a strong body that is being fed nutritiously and is physically active. Most of us understand that in order to lose weight and get healthy we must combine diet and fitness through a concentrated and consistent implementation of a healthy food plan and exercise regime. There is no way around this formula; for all the magic diet pills and get healthy quick schemes – it all comes down to this simple combination. And if you ignore the combination then you will ultimately fail at achieving long term health.

To begin a diet and fitness regime you must first know where you are starting. Begin with your food intake and look for ways on a weekly basis to begin eliminating those food groups that are contributing to weight gain and an unhealthy lifestyle. Many people, when embarking on a new diet plan, will eliminate everything right away, and while this may hold up for a few days or even weeks, eventually that person will go right back to their old eating habits. The key word here is “habit” and in order to establish a new habit you must do it slowly. For the first several weeks focus on removing those food groups that are high in saturated fat, or greasy, fried foods. Begin adding more fresh fruits and vegetables and lean proteins into your diet. Following this, begin to eliminate those items containing sugar including products made from white flour. Instead, introduce products that contain whole grain or wheat. Move towards a diet and fitness program that focuses on whole, natural foods and avoids any food that is processed in any way and is therefore likely to contain sugar and preservatives.

A diet and fitness regime must also account for physical activity and this should be moved into gradually as well. Begin by incorporating small amounts of physical activity into your daily life – taking the stairs, taking short walks, stretching in the morning – and build from there. Work towards a consistent and weekly regime that includes cardiovascular exercise – such as walking, running, and aerobics; stretching and core work – such as yoga or Pilates; and weight training – such as the lifting of free weights or the use of machines.

If you proceed gradually and begin to take control of your life through food and exercise, you will soon find that your diet and fitness regime has paid off in weight loss, increased energy, and overall health.

Can anyone suggest me a good fitness routine and food plan?

May 13th, 2009

I am 15 years old… turning 16 in october. I am about 5ft 3 and weigh 49kg. I want to lose abit of fat, especially of my stomach and thigh area. I go to the gym but it hasn’t really made much difference. When I go gym I usually jog for 20-30 mins, do some stomach work outs on a ball and do about 15 mins of stepping or something. I eat healthy aswell, I think the problem might be that I eat too much healthy things like fruit? Any suggestions?

How to Begin

Choose an activity that you enjoy. The best exercise for you is the one you’ll actually do, not the one you think you should do. Walking is a great place to start since it doesn’t require special equipment and you can do it anywhere, but you can try any activity that involves some type of continuous movement like cycling, swimming, running, aerobics, rowing, stairclimbing, etc.
Start with 2 or 3 days of your chosen activity a week with a rest day between workouts.
Begin with a 5-10 minute warm up of light cardio to gradually increase heart rate.
Increase your pace and intensity to slightly harder than comfortable (about a Level 5 or 6 on the Perceived Exertion Scale or you can use Target Heart Rate to monitor intensity) and go as long as you comfortably can. Begin where you ARE, not where you want to be. You may only be able to exercise for a few minutes at a time, but that will change quickly if you’re consistent.
End each workout with a cool down of light cardio and stretch the muscles you’ve worked to relax and keep your muscles flexible.
Each week, increase your workout time by a few minutes until you can work continuously for 30 minutes a session.
Don’t worry about distance or pace. For the first few weeks, focus on showing up for your workouts and building time. You have plenty of time to work on your speed and distance.
After 4-6 weeks, change your routine by adding another day of exercise, increasing your pace/intensity, adding a new activity and/or increasing the amount of time you exercise
